Narooma and District Education Support Committee

 

Narooma and District Education Support Committee (NDESC) was established in early 2024 and is a committee of the Elm Grove Sanctuary Trust.

 

The NDESC’s Mission:

To enhance the public education experience of students in the Narooma District.

 The NDESC’s vision is for a community where:
  • every young person has access to quality Education
  • each young person has the best chance to achieve their potential
  • the community is actively engaged in the education of its young people
Our aims are to:
  • work in partnership with Narooma High School and its feeder schools
  • increase school retention rates
  • increase school attendance rates
  • to improve Numeracy and Literacy levels
  • to enhance inclusiveness
  • to develop a Community volunteer program at NHS.

Should you wish to be involved as a Community volunteer as part of the NDESC, please download and complete our Volunteer Expression of Interest Form NHS.

Some suggested areas of support could be – Administration such as book-keeping, I.T., promotion in consultation with DoE, fund-raising and financial support, Breakfast Club Volunteer, or as a prospective NHS Volunteer Mentor working with students.

Narooma High School lies on Yuin Country, a powerful place of knowledge, culture and teaching. The voices of the AECG and JAECG lead us as our guides through respect, collaboration and support.
